THE STRATEGY BLUEPRINT

The Brutal Truth About Getting Hired (That Other Coaches Don’t Know)

Because they’ve never hired anyone.
And they definitely never built the hiring systems like I have.

1. Fix Your Positioning (Not Your Résumé)

You’re not getting ignored because you need a prettier resume.
You’re getting ignored because your value isn’t obvious within three seconds.

That’s how fast recruiters decide — and I know, because I helped build the systems they use.

Do this instead:

  • Lead with impact, not tasks
  • Make your strengths impossible to miss
  • Position yourself as the solution to a business problem

This is how you break through automation, bias, and noise.

2. Stop Spray-and-Pray Applying — Target 20

Sending 100 applications is not strategy; it’s noise.
Recruiters don’t reward volume. They ignore it.

A targeted list of 20 companies builds traction.

Do this:

  • Create a Top 20 list
  • Follow their leaders and hiring managers
  • Track every touchpoint with intention

Precision beats panic every time.

3. Warm the Room Before You Enter It

Cold applicants blend in.
Warm applicants stand out.

Most candidates show up as strangers.
My clients show up as familiar, recognized names.

Do this:

  • Engage with hiring leaders’ content
  • Comment with insight, not fluff
  • Send low-pressure, value-focused messages

Become known before you ask for anything.

4. Pitch Yourself Like a Problem-Solver

If your outreach sounds like “Please hire me,” you’ve already lost.
Hiring teams respond to clarity, confidence, and insight.

Use this:
“Hi __, I’ve been following your team’s work in __. I specialize in solving __ and noticed a few areas where I could add value. If you’re open to it, I’d love to share a quick idea.”

Short. Strategic. Memorable.

5. Interview Like You Already Belong

Interviews aren’t performances.
They’re business conversations.

High-performing candidates collaborate.
Weak candidates recite rehearsed lines.

Do this:

  • Use STAR + VALUE
  • Demonstrate business understanding
  • Ask questions that show strategic thinking

This is what makes hiring managers think, “They fit here.”

6. Follow Up With Value — Not “Checking In”

“Just checking in” is the fastest way to be ignored.
It communicates that you have nothing new to offer.

Send something that proves your value:

  • A relevant resource
  • A quick insight
  • A short outline of how you’d solve a problem they      mentioned

Value always outperforms reminders.

7. Track, Measure, Adjust

Successful job searches aren’t random.
They’re data-driven.

Hiring is a system — and yes, I helped build those systems.

Track:

  • Conversations started
  • Responses received
  • Introductions made
  • Interviews booked

Apply less.
Strategize more.
Win more.
